[SMU Associate Professor of Theatre/Performance Studies] Margaret Chan plays the role of Bernarda's mother Maria Josefa, in The House Of Bernarda Alba and is riveting in her vortex of insanity. Director Glen Goei ratchets up the emotion so quickly in this production that it becomes difficult to discern one emotional climax from the next.
