Design Thinking for Social Innovation |
Abstract:
The goal of Design Thinking is to match people’s needs with what is technologically feasible and viable as a business strategy. In the last decade, technological development has significantly contributed to the advancement of the humanity. However, there is a knowledge gap of systematically integrating and aligning technology with human development. This talk introduces Design Thinking for Social Innovation as a creative integrating framework for supporting both novel and sustainable problem solving to benefit the humanity in the future. Specifically, design thinking for social innovation is a perspective that integrates empathy in problem interpretation, creativity in idea generation, and rationality in solution evaluation in the context of the problem.
