On a bright morning on 2 June 2017, the SMU School of Social Sciences (SOSS) played host to around 150 enthusiastic pre-university students who attended our Social Sciences Immersion Camp. This Camp is an annual event organized by dedicated student representatives from SOSS. On 8 June 2017, the School of Social Sciences hosted a private forum for 40 participants at the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore on the topic of The End of the American Pacific Century: Is Trump Pivoting Away From Asia? The Donald Trump Presidency has generated uncertainty about US policy towards Asia with greater potential of economic frictions with China and doubts on US security commitment.
