SMU Assistant Professor of Political Science Colm Fox explained that it is often difficult to judge the impact of social media and the Internet on elections and campaigns in APAC as the region has diverse social media habits. Aside from working around the new restrictions on social media, SMU Associate Professor of Marketing (Education) Seshan Ramaswami said advertisers must remember that social media has tremendously transformed not only the world of marketing in general but political marketing as well.
