The Wee Kim Wee Centre at SMU (WKWC) held a seminar on Friday to explore the topic of human trafficking. Other than discussing the situation in the Asia-Pacific region, speakers also gave their views on the new laws that Singapore is drafting. Associate Professor of English Literature and WKWC Director Kirpal Singh pointed out that there are two extremes present in our society. On one hand, there are those who are completely ignorant about it, while there are others who think it is irrelevant to them. Both extremes are not beneficial to society in any way.
