Commenting on new changes outlined in the White Paper on Singapore Women's Development, SMU Dean of Students and Professor of Sociology (Practice) Paulin Straughan pointed out that besides allowing women aged between 21 and 35 to undergo elective egg freezing regardless of their marital status, and adding respite care services, many of the ideas presented are not new. She also observed that many topics within the White Paper are not only about women, but also about men, and concluded that the it addresses issues that are beyond the subject of male versus female.
