Banking a big draw for students doing accountancy

A poll of 96 final-accountancy students from the three local universities found that more than a third did not want to become accountants and auditors. 30 per cent of the respondents said they would prefer to enter banking – emphasizing the talent crunch in the accountancy sector. There are about 1000 final-year accountancy students in total at NTU, NUS and SMU.
