SMU Associate Professor of Humanities Winston Chow, a lead author for the upcoming report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change said that hazards such as cyclones, floods, droughts and heatwaves are only going to increase in intensity and frequency in the face of accelerating climate change. He added that climate change will increase the risk exposure of people living in cities, especially those along the coast, and the risks of these will depend on their location.
