SMU Professor of Sociology (Practice) Paulin Tay Straughan said that the establishment of the coordination centre by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) is a good starting point, and achieving coordination between different agencies is a significant step forward. Prof Straughan said that social problems inherently require solutions from multiple levels. Therefore, it is better to establish a one-stop service platform to ensure that the public can obtain assistance simply by contacting the relevant agencies.
