Professor James Tang, Dean of the SMU School of Social Sciences, shared his views on Hong Kong's Chief Executive-candidate Henry Tang prior to the leadership election in the former British colony. From the manner in which Tang handled his string of gaffes and scandals, it appeared that he is not a capable person and has scant regard for the rule of law. He commented that if the public does not approve of Henry Tang on issues of integrity and honesty, how could he be entrusted to lead the government of the Hong Kong SAR?
