SMU Behavioural Sciences Institute director Professor David Chan delivered a talk at the Institute of Policy Studies Post-GE2015 Conference. He noted that voters wanted to know about the candidates' character and competence and the party's position. He said the 70% vote to PAP and 30% vote to the opposition should not be taken as predictive of what will happen in the next and subsequent elections. Issues such as trust, fairness, policy content and policy communication can change and what will happen will depend on the governance, the government, the socio-political context and what the opposition can come up with as an alternative voice.
