SMU student Alyssa Almas Mohamad Shamsuri considered the opportunity to participate in this year's Singapore Model Parliament as a way to learn the ins and outs of 'behind the scenes' of Parliament. "It is easy for us to criticise, for example why this bill was passed or why this issue was not debated ... but many do not know about the parliamentary process. As we better understand this process, it can help in managing our expectations," said the third -year student majoring in Sociology at SMU.
