SMU recently showcased a collection of 24 artworks by the late artist Chua Ek Kay. The Chua Ek Kay exhibition titled "A Long Way from Home" was held at the de Suantio Gallery, SMU School of Social Sciences, to commemorate the 10th year of his passing. In a commentary, writer Zou Lu opined that the exhibition was organised by a strong curating team, which comprised students – from across disciplines – taking the Exhibitions and Curating course under the SMU-X initiative. The course, led by SMU Associate Professor of Arts and Culture Management Kwok Kian Chow, integrated both theoretical and practical aspects of art exhibition making.
