The Finance Ministry recently released the biennnial Singapore Public Sector Outcomes Review which gives an overview of how Singapore has fared in a rapidly evolving global environment and domestic issues that concern citizens. In an interview, SMU Dean of Students and Professor of Sociology Paulin Tay Straughan shared her views on the findings and how the figures reflect improved quality of life. She also suggested that when it comes to providing help for the needy, more can be done to think of new ways to deal with and make provisions for those in need.
