In response to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 pandemic, the Psychological Science Accelerator issued a call for rapid and impactful proposals to understand the psychological and behavioural aspects of the pandemic. SMU Assistant Professor of Psychology (Education) Andree Hartanto was invited to participate in the project and has appointed SMU student Nadyanna Majeed as the lead investigator for the project. The research project broadly aims to provide suggestions on how to best ensure compliance with health-promoting behaviours and manage negative feelings associated with the pandemic, as the mitigation of a pandemic depends on how the population, as a whole, engage in behaviours that limit the spread of the virus.
