A study published by SMU Professor of Psychology Norman Li and Satoshi Kanazawa from the London School of Economics showed that most people reported higher life satisfaction when they socialised more frequently with friends, while highly intelligent individuals reportedly felt less satisfied with their lives the more they socialised with their friends. The research also found that highly intelligent people may be better adapted to modern life, finding meaning and satisfaction through pursuits that don’t require constant social contact.
