SMU School of Social Sciences undergraduate Ong Hui Xin attended the launch of the Rise Mentoring Programme by SG Enable on Thursday (Feb 16). Under the programme, students with special needs in tertiary institutions are being paired with mentors in management positions to encourage both groups to better themselves. The programme aims to encourage both groups to rise - for the mentors to be more confident in working with persons with special needs and for the mentees to discover their strengths and abilities. It was officially launched on Thursday (Feb 16) with 15 students and their 15 mentors from Accenture, Barclays Bank, Deutsche Bank and Singtel embarking on their 12-week programme.
