In a television programme examining the SG Secure initiative, SMU Behavioural Sciences Institute Director Professor David Chan explained that large-scale exercises tend to involve a select group of people that are not representative of the target population, but they nevertheless are useful and provide the first step to understand the dynamics, so that lessons can be learned and refined to reach out to the larger population. He also noted that people should see SG Secure not as a government initiative but understand that it is about themselves, their families and their country.
