Commenting on the debate on the India-Singapore Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement, SMU Dean of Students and Professor of Sociology (Practice) Paulin Straughan said, "The transparency of how foreign talent are recruited, the safeguards in place to ensure that locals are not bypassed, and the reminder that we recruit globally because of our internal demand will certainly help Singaporeans appreciate the complex dynamics at play."
