SMU Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Professor of Computational Social Science Kenneth Benoit provided closing remarks during the “Future Horizons: Envisioning the Humanities and Social Sciences”, urging academics to prioritise societal impact alongside research, engaging policymakers, industry and the public, and called for a coordinated effort across universities to develop AI literacy from earlier stages of education, helping students navigate the ethical and social dimensions of AI.
