Commenting on the paper released by the Institute of Policy Studies – which looked at the evolving attitudes towards social and moral issues of Singaporeans – SMU Dean of Students and Professor of Sociology Paulin Straughan noted that attitudes can change at different stages of life. She said that the surveys will provide a good sense of the shifts in Singaporeans’ attitude towards these issues and can be used to guide the conversation with Singaporeans and prevent it from fragmenting the society.
