On how the pandemic has affected Singaporeans, SMU Dean of Students and Professor of Sociology (Practice) Paulin Straughan, who is also Director of ROSA, pointed out that before the pandemic, the government and social organisations had actively held community events, which helped the seniors to stay active. However, these activities were halted during the circuit breaker period. Prof Straughan noted that even as Singapore entered Phase Three of its reopening, many organisations are facing difficulties in reinstating these activities.
