SMU Academy for Continuing Education Executive Director Dr Lim Lai Cheng was interviewed by a current affairs programme on the subject of innovation and disruption. Besides defining what disruption is, she also shared her views on a wide array of issues, such as the technological disruption in the workforce that we can expect (and in what kind of time frame); the consequences of disruption; as well as the kinds of job and industries that are at stake. “Definitely, the disruption cycles are shortening due to the advancement and the exponential rate at which technological advancements are taking place. Technology is not going away, it is only going to improve systems,” Dr Lim said.
