Local Paralympians Theresa Goh and SMU undergraduate Yip Pin Xiu were featured in a story on Singapore’s 14-strong para-swim team, which is central to Singapore's bid for a historic medal haul at the ASEAN Para Games. Yip, however, played down her medal hopes. She will be competing three classes up due to a lack of swimmers in her category (S2). She said: “For me, it’s about timing. It’s a good benchmark to see where I’m ahead of the Rio Paralympics next year.” The 2008 Paralympic gold medallist added: “The team is really motivated, I can see a desire to train hard in everyone.”
