Habits and Self-Regulation |
| |
Abstract:
Habits are sometimes viewed as the bane of self-regulation. Bad habits seem to get in the way of meeting important life goals. However, recent research shows that our habits also help us achieve goals, especially ones like exercise, diet, studying, and saving money, that require consistent responses. In this talk, I explain how beneficial habits keep us on track and protect against temptations.
