The book Fifty Secrets Of Singapore's Success consists of 50 essays written by leaders and experts from various fields in Singapore about how the small city-state has succeeded in a number of areas, and is compiled by Ambassador-at-Large Professor Tommy Koh. Eddie Teo, Chairman of the Council of Presidential Advisers, who is also SMU’s Pro-Chancellor and Distinguished Fellow of SMU’s School of Social Sciences, launched the book yesterday. Mr Teo said the essays on hawker centres and toilets, written by SMU President Professor Lily Kong and World Toilet Organisation founder Jack Sim, “convincingly explained how important they are for nation building and national development”.
